Are You Grafted Into The Royal Line?

May 31, 2023 | Growing in God's Grace

Our Messiah Sprouted From the Line of David-

In those days and at that time
I will make a righteous Branch
sprout from David’s line;
he will do what is just and right
in the land.
Jeremiah 33:13

God planned long ago that we would be part of the line of promise. The branch sprouting from David is our precious Savior, Jesus Christ.

This lineage begins with Abraham, Issac, Jacob, Judah, and all the way to David, Solomon, and finally to Joseph and Mary, the parents of Jesus. (See Matthew 1).

As believers, God has grafted us into the line of Jesus.

The Israelites, or Jews, were in the original line of Jesus, however that changed when many refused to believe in Jesus as their Saviour, a humble King.

God includes whoever he pleases to call to be “children of the promise” or the lineage of Jesus.

The true Israel, the Church, comprises some Jews and many Gentiles (see Romans 9).

God’s mercy is as wide as the ocean and his kindness is just and fair.

Today, if you believe in Jesus, you are part of a lineage that is full of grace, the family of God.

You belong, and the Messiah, the King of Kings, the righteous branch that sprouted from King David long ago, cherishes and loves you.

On this last day in the lovely month of May, won’t you dwell on that truth with me?

In this planting and growing season, remember that Jesus Christ, the righteous branch, sprouted from the line of David.

And remember that as a Christian, a Christ follower, a believer in Jesus Christ our Saviour, you also sprouted from the line of David.

God grafted you in to the body of Christ, not by blood, but by flesh, and you are surely part of a royal line.

You are a child of God, a son or daughter of Christ, the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.

This identity as Messiah’s chosen child can never shattered, stolen.

You and I have an identity that means everything.

Never underestimate who you are. You are a child of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

You are a son or daughter of the one who will never leave you or forsake you. (Hebrews 13:5)

Let us turn to Jesus today in gratitude for the identity and lineage He has freely given to us.

May we grow, sprout, and blossom into the child of God, which He would have us become.

Let us do our best for Him, because He has done His best for us first.

Freely you have received; freely give.
Matthew 10:8c
