And this hope will not lead to disappointment.
For we know how dearly God loves us, because
He has given us the Holy Spirit
to fill our hearts with His love.
As Christ followers we should know that God has given us the Holy Spirit.
Yet in Romans five verse five, it gives us one reason, among many.
God gave the Holy Spirit “to fill our hearts with His love.”
So now we know that by God’s grace, it can fill our hearts with more love.
That is a comforting thought. We are not stuck where we thought we were.
God can help us increase our love for Christ, and for others as we rely on Him and keep asking for His love to fill us.
The Holy Spirit can help us experience a deeper understanding of God’s love for us.
With the Holy Spirit’s presence with us, inside of us, He does not leave us on our own to learn to love better.
The Holy Spirit wants to dwell in us and help us with our lives, but He will not force Himself on us.
We must reciprocate by asking for the infilling of the Holy Spirit daily in our prayer time.
In prayer God invites us to ask for what we specifically need more grace and help from the Holy Spirit for.
Asking for God’s love to fill us and God to help us love like He would love is a great prayer request!
The problem often is that we forget to ask God to fill us with His love.
That is my problem sometimes. What about you?
Life carries us away with all its concerns and cares and we forgo asking for what would help us immensely to get through life better.
So with these beautiful Bible Verses today from Romans 5:5, comes a gentle reminder to you the reader, and myself the writer, to seek the Holy Spirit to fill us to overflowing with His love, God’s love.
Our lives will look much different when we learn to love with God’s love, filling us to the brim.
His love for us, and His love to help us love, makes for a much better person, and a much better world.
May God’s love fill you to overflowing today. Ask Him to help you love others with His love today.
I will do the same.
May God bless your day,
