My Strength, My Joy, My All

Mar 13, 2024 | God's Love, Hope

“Surely God is my salvation;
I will trust and not be afraid.
The LORD, the LORD himself,
is my strength and my defense;
he has become my salvation.”
With joy you will draw water
from the wells of salvation.
Isaiah 12:2-3

Do you remember a time in your life when your faith grew stronger and you could say with confidence, “surely God is MY salvation!” What a milestone marker in your spiritual walk! Maybe you learned young to keep God at the forefront of your life? Or perhaps only recently. There is no better expression of faith than the words in Isaiah 12:2-3.

Faith comes to life when we mean what we read. It becomes a living fire in our heart of hearts. Our lives are bound up in the God who binds us up.

Our God takes our fears and turns them into trusting Him, relying on Him, believing He will come through for us. We no longer expect the worst-case scenario, but choose to trust God for His help. Our foe has vanquished and our great God has become our exaltation!

As Christians we take comfort in knowing no matter what trial befalls us, or what evil prevails in our day, God is our refuge, our strength, our defense. We can say this with our mouths, but we must also live it out in our lives.

All around us, there might be chaos, strife, trials and tribulations, but we can confide in our great defense, our Lord Jesus Christ. He turns all things to our profit or good.

He gives us hope and help and the promise that His mercies are new every day.
Weeping may last for a night, but joy comes in the
morning! (Lamentations 3:22-23, Psalm 30:5).

As we accept our salvation (help) from the LORD, we learn to rely on His trustworthiness. We go to Him first before people for support or help. God is real, therefore His help is real.

As we turn to God and learn to rely on Him, our joy grows in depth, as deep as the deepest well, living in the LORD’s joy.

These Bible Verses in Isaiah 12 are a song of praise to the God who redeems sinners!

Many will gloss over these words, never expressing the need for God’s divine help. Life is going fine and even if it isn’t, why bow the knee to someone you can’t see? That is when trust is a word that relies only upon “self.” You can’t believe in what you can’t see, or so they think.

To ask God to reveal Himself to you would be the wisest prayer anyone could whisper.

Yet many will refuse.

I hope this blog can make a difference for one or two, perhaps even three. Lord willing.

In my life knowing God is my salvation (my help, my defense, my strength, my joy, my everything) has made all the difference.

My life would be a big mess if not for God… all glory to Him.

Won’t you join me in thanking the LORD that He has become our salvation?

Sing this song of praise with me today and draw water from the wells of salvation with joy.
