New Life-

Mar 12, 2024 | Hope

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.
The life I now live in the body,
I live by faith in the Son of God,
who loved me and gave himself for me.”
Galations 2:20

Christians have taken comfort in Galations 2:20 for centuries.

Christ gave His life for us on the cross. We have a new life as He lives inside of us.

Christ defeated death and the Believer now lives forevermore in eternity.

As we live in the day-to-day grind on earth, we have Christ living in us to direct and guide our every step!

Thank God for His grace and mercy to us in Jesus Christ! As we reflect on Christ’s death over Easter, we surely have cause to celebrate. Every day of the year we have cause to celebrate as Christians!

The old man, the rebellious self, died with Christ.

Romans 6:4 says:
“We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that,
just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father,
we too may live a new life.”

As Christ lives in us, we die to old destructive sinful passions and are a new creation in Christ. One who desires to do God’s will.

Christ died for our sins and because of Him, we now have victory over sin.

Praise God for these wonderful truths we now live!

I had a banner over my desk for five years. This is what it said…

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:
The old has gone, the new is here.”
2 Corinthians 5:17

A new beginning is possible for anyone who will bow the knee to make Jesus Christ their Lord and Savior.

The beauty is God doesn’t remember our past. He promises a fresh new start and His help in it all.

Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing.
Now it springs up;
do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.”
Isaiah 43:18-19

So many pilgrims struggle with the truth that God is merciful, abundant in lovingkindness. He will forget our past. It is often people who can’t let go of the past, not God.

We need individuals to teach those searching for truth and explain these nuggets that can change a life!

May those searching for truth find comfort in the words of 1 Peter 1:3:
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!
According to his great mercy,
he has caused us to be born again to a living hope
through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”

And to close today, using precept upon precept, these words…

“He has made everything beautiful in its time.
Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart,
yet so that he cannot find out what God has done
from the beginning to the end.”
Ecclesiastes 3:11

If you are searching for truth, dear reader, please meditate on these words of life.

Except for the grace of God, none would have a new life in Christ.

Let us live and walk and move in that life today.

The life we now live in Christ, who gave His life for the worst of sinners. We can say with the Apostle Paul,

“Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance:
Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—
of whom I am the worst.”
1 Timothy 1:15
