THE MESSIAH!

Dec 22, 2023 | God's Love

“But the angel said to them,
“Do not be afraid. I bring you tidings of good news,
that will cause great joy for all the people.
Today in the town of David,
a Saviour has been born to you;
he is the Messiah, the Lord.”
Luke 2:10-11

It is December 22, 2023. Three more days until Christmas. And yet we have already been celebrating the good news of our Messiah!

He arrived incarnate two thousand and twenty-three years ago, and He will come again, yet we know not when. We must be ready.

Glory to God in the highest! Our Saviour is born. Immanuel with us now!

The angels tell the Shepherds, and soon one day every knee shall bow.

Glory to God in the highest!

Good tidings of great joy to all people who will believe in Jesus Christ as Savior and Redeemer.

What do we fear?

As we trust in Jesus, our fears dissipate, darkness turns to light.

We try to imagine what that first Christmas was like. As we read the Bible stories that tell the story unfolding, we grasp how beautiful it was and is and evermore shall be! Christ Jesus, our Messiah, is with us, Immanuel, our sins forgiven, and He shall reign forever and ever and ever!

Whose heart is so hard they will not celebrate this purely joyful and most monumental event in the world’s history?

The Great I AM has visited the earth, the Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace!

Fill your hearts with cheer and gladness. This is cause for joy, not sadness.

Hark, the Savior calls your name, not a king of prestige and fame.

Humble and low, down to earth, He came. To receive those who bow down at His name.

Shephards quake at the sight, holy infant so tender, so mild.

‘Tis the dawn of redeeming grace. Let us also behold His face.

Glad tidings surround us, within us we know,

The good news brings with it our souls to make glow.

The world can’t deny it, there’s cause to rejoice, even though many can’t find the reason. With jubilant songs Christians lift their voice!

We have cause to celebrate and with an uplifted heart; we share the gospel news with those who want a brand new start.

His glory shines around us now, within and all around, for those who have the ears to hear the joyful news abounds.

As we care for one another, we want for what is best. So with the angels long ago, we announce good news to bless.

Why is it those who sit in darkness, would choose to so remain, when all the while the King of Kings would take our sin and stain?

Could it be that some are comfortable, in the darkness, now to sit, to know the Christ of all the earth in their plans it does not fit?

To know the peace and joy that plunges deep into the soul, why would the heart choose otherwise it cannot reach its goal?

For don’t we all want contentment deep within?

It is for those who bow the knee found in this child, the Christ that came for souls to cleanse from sin.

Dear Reader,
I hope you have enjoyed reading the Blog during the year 2023.
During the holidays, I will step back for several weeks, until Monday January 15th, 2024.
May the Bible bring much encouragement to your soul over the days ahead.
I look forward to beginning afresh in 2024 and invite you to read along again.
With Christian Love,
Praying you will have a beautiful and blessed Christmas with Christ Jesus as your focus.
Liz.
