The Season of Singing Has Come!

Song of Solomon 2:11–13 NIV
11 See! The winter is past;
the rains are over and gone.
12 Flowers appear on the earth;
the season of singing has come,
the cooing of doves
is heard in our land.
13 The fig tree forms its early fruits;
the blossoming vines spread their fragrance.
Arise, come, my darling;
my beautiful one, come with me.”
Song of Solomon 2:11–13 NKJV
11 For lo, the winter is past,
The rain is over and gone.
12 The flowers appear on the earth;
The time of singing has come,
And the voice of the turtledove
Is heard in our land.
13 The fig tree puts forth her green figs,
And the vines with the tender grapes
Give a good smell.
Rise up, my love, my fair one,
And come away!
Song of Solomon 2:11–13 — English Standard Version (ESV)
11 for behold, the winter is past;
the rain is over and gone.
12 The flowers appear on the earth,
the time of singing has come,
and the voice of the turtledove
is heard in our land.
13 The fig tree ripens its figs,
and the vines are in blossom;
they give forth fragrance.
Arise, my love, my beautiful one,
and come away.
Song of Songs 2:11-13 Easy English Bible
Look! The winter time has finished. The heavy rains have stopped.
Flowers are appearing everywhere.
It is now the season to sing happy songs.
We can hear the voices of doves around us.
New fruit is growing on the fig trees. There are flowers on the vines,
and their sweet smell is in the air.
I love you, my beautiful friend.
Please get up now and come with me!’
Song of Songs 2:10-13 The Message (MSG)
Get up, my dear friend, fair and beautiful lover—come to me!
Look around you: Winter is over; the winter rains are over, gone!
Spring flowers are in blossom all over.
The whole world’s a choir—and singing!
Spring warblers are filling the forest with sweet strains.
Lilacs are exuberantly purple and perfumed, and cherry trees fragrant with blossoms.
Oh, get up, dear friend, my fair and beautiful lover—come to me!

Good morning dear readers!

We have had quite the week thus far!

First the “Eclipse of the sun” and then yesterday a summer to follow up!

As you (likely…) I can’t but help get excited at this beautiful time of year!

In the next few weeks, all of creation will unfold in the northern hemisphere, here close to Niagara Falls, Ontario. We are approximately 3000 miles north of the equator.

So when all creation near here stops groaning under the dead of winter and comes to life, it is obvious. It pretty well unfolds for the eyes to see in slow motion.

It is a season to behold with awe, breathtaking beauty, majesty, warmth, and God’s beautiful kiss of the sun on our skin!

How do you go about things at this time of year, dear reader?

Do you drink in the beauty around you?

Is there time in your schedule, or do you make time to travel the countryside and gasp and awe at the creation no longer groaning but springing to life all around you.

For your pleasure today I have shared some photos taken freshly, just yesterday, on a bike ride!

On top of that, I have one of our favourite Bible Verses, about the Season of Spring, printed out in differing translations for your enjoyment!

May you enjoy the journey along with me. God’s beauty is for us to see!

Drink deeply along with me in His love in giving us the beautiful “Season of Singing!” It has arrived in all its glory reflecting God’s redeeming grace, beauty, and renewal!

Blessed Day Dear One.
