Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.
Your righteousness is like the highest mountains, your justice like the great deep.
You, Lord, preserve both people and animals.
How priceless is your unfailing love, O God!
People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
Psalm 36:5-7
Most people get let down by someone they love along life’s way.
Maybe you have experienced this multiple times.
We take a risk when we trust and love others.
When trust gets broken, it becomes difficult to trust again.
In contrast, God’s love is assuredly unconditional.
God will never fail you or betray you.
You need not worry about your relationship with God. He will never leave you nor forsake you.
God is truly someone you can trust completely.
People will let you down. Though many are loyal, many are not.
We need to learn to discern who God wants us to trust, and who will not be capable of trustworthiness.
If we don’t seek wisdom from God regarding who we should allow into our lives, it will be a big mess.
Sometimes when individuals in the past have been unfaithful, people begin the believe this is normal.
It is not.
You deserve better.
Ask God to help you gain wisdom in how to relate to people and how to choose people to relate to who are dependable, steadfast, and devoted. These people will never be perfect, but they will aim to be examples of christlike love.
The Bible states, “But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.”
We know the Christian is supposed to bear good fruit. In the King James Version of the Bible the text reads: Ye shall know them by their fruits. (Matthew 7:16)
This means the believer’s behaviour and their works reflect the sincerity of their faith. We won’t do this nearly perfectly, but our goal needs to be to exemplify Christ.
Walking out the walk of the Christian faith is more than talking the talk.
Our deeds will reveal our heart.
The Bible Verses from Psalm 36 listed above are a reminder and good thoughts to meditate on.
Though people may let you down, and we let others and ourselves down, God’s love is unfailing.
We can count on the faithful love of God to help us on this journey of life to the completion line. This is where we all long to hear the words, “well done, good and faithful servant…” (Matthew 25:23)
