Waiting Times

Mar 20, 2023 | Encouragement

Since ancient times no one has heard,

no ear has perceived,

no eye has seen any God besides you,

who acts on behalf of those who

wait for him.

Isaiah 64:4 NIV

Today marks the first day of spring in Canada. It has been winter for 88.99 days. Winter is the shortest of the four seasons, yet it seems to be the longest.

As we have waited for longer days and more sunshine, we look forward to the resurrection of new life upon the earth in our sphere.

The hope of less darkness, longer days, and a glorious focus on the Resurrection of our LORD, Jesus Christ, as we celebrate His work in our lives, gives us bursting joy.

In Isaiah 64:4, we read God acts on behalf of those who wait for Him. As we call out in prayer, trust Him to act in His timing, ask for His will, God will act on behalf of those who wait.

As we wait for winter to become spring, so is waiting for God to act sometimes long and somewhat dreary.

Yet when that day arrives, though gradually, and we see the answer we have waited for long and hard, it fills us with hope

and our spirits soar.

Our light is the LORD, as believers. He brings life and renewal. He causes us to rise above the darkness, and then our spirits sing and soar!

What are you waiting for today?

As you wait upon the LORD, he answers, in His time, and He makes all things beautiful in His time.

Why not lean upon this Jesus today in prayer?

As you live and gladly do right, God will help you. Wait long sometimes but always trust that He will bring light, hope, joy and an answer as you wait.

He will bring spring in your heart and light to your eyes as you wait upon Him.
