Have you not known?
Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable.
He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.
Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted;
but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:28-31
As we wait upon the Lord, and ask in faith, God will renew our strength.
That may mean taking time to rest for our physical body, or spending time with Jesus in prayer for our spiritual health.
Emotionally we will have better health by doing both of those things.
Do you ever come to the point where you know you have to say no? You just can’t pack another thing into your day. You just have to slow it down.
God calls us to be good stewards of our physical bodies as well as our minds and spirits.
So we honour Him when we take good care of ourselves.
Thankfully God gives power to the weary. He sustains us, and gives us His strength to go forward.
Are we leaning on His strength to do things or are we doing things in our own strength, striving?
Let’s all hold onto these words today…
