Work With All Your Heart

Feb 29, 2024 | Encouragement

Whatever work you do, do it with all your heart.

Do it for the Lord and not for men.

Remember that you will get your reward from the Lord.

He will give you what you should receive.

You are working for the Lord Christ.

Colossians 3:23-24 (NLV)

What is your work ethic?

Do you put your all into everything you do?

Is it rewarding for you to work with zeal and passion fully, giving one hundred percent?

Do you consider who you are working for?

Regardless if you are baking pastries for the most eloquent banquet, balancing budgets for the largest corporation, or cleaning the kitchen cupboards in your humble home, you are working for the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

He is a God that sees El Roi. And He notices what we do and how we do it.

God wants our most excellent best.

This truth gives meaning to our work. If we think it is meaningless, we must reevaluate.

Everything has meaning when what we accomplish is for the Lord.

As motivation dwindles, and interest wanes, one must conjure up strength for tasks set before them.

God will answer the prayer that seeks these things.

As far as I can remember, God has put pep in my step to accomplish what lies before me.

For that, I am thankful.

Next week I will turn another year older.

For me it is hard to admit my energy is not what it used to be. But by God’s grace, I have good health and still accomplish much in His strength. Probably not as much as some and not as little as others. But what does that matter? We are to work for the Lord, not to impress people. Not comparing ourselves to so and so.

And isn’t it a joy to commit what we do daily unto the Lord? As a Christian, that makes a great start to the day.

Who we are working for, our CEO, our ultimate boss, the great and mighty creator of the universe that is our Lord.

If you don’t have the right commander-in-chief as your motivation, it may well be there is no heart in the matter of your work. Or perhaps money and materialism are the reason you get up each day.

Each person has a choice in life of whom they will serve and how they will serve.

Might we choose wisely?

The Apostle Paul wrote the chosen Bible Text for today to the Church in Colossae, but it applies to each of us here and now.

We are to work with all our hearts because we are not doing it for ourselves, but for the Lord.

Our best efforts may go unnoticed by people or bosses. God is our reward. He sees it all and when our work serves Him, it really doesn’t matter if we get a pat on the back or the praise of man.

It pleases God when we work with all our hearts for Him.

In the end, it just seems right.
